
How to use George, George Business and the George token safely
What do you need to use the George
and George Business mobile banking apps?
Supported operating system versions for all users:
Android 9.0 and higher
iOS 16 and higher
Recommended operating system versions for George Business administrators:
Android 13.0 and higher
iOS 17.0 and higher
You can only install George and George Business on devices that are not unlocked (rooted Android or jailbroken iOS). Unlocked systems pose a security risk and are therefore not supported.
What do you need to use
the George token desktop app?
A USB token – a USB-based certificate valid for 3 years, required to use the app.
Supported operating system versions for all users:
- Windows 11 or later
- macOS 15.5 or later
Why is it important to update
your operating system?
- Updating your phone or tablet’s operating system not only brings new features, but more importantly, provides security fixes from the manufacturer – helping you protect your data and money.
- Using a phone or tablet with an outdated operating system puts your device at higher risk of attack.
- The list of unsupported devices shows phones that are no longer compatible with the current versions of George and George Business. If your device is listed, consider switching to a newer model that supports the latest security updates.

- Look for Android version

George Business administrators
George Business administrators should use mobile devices with the latest possible operating system version. These devices offer a higher level of security and reliability when confirming admin actions.
That’s why we recommend the following OS versions for administrators:
- Android 13.0 or later
- iOS 17.0 or later
Administrators who manage the George Business workspace must have an active Agreement for Extended Mobile App Authorisation (RPMA) and a registered device used to confirm admin actions or higher-value payments.
Security guidelines for using George,
George Business and George token
Install mobile apps only from official stores such as the App Store, Google Play or AppGallery – or from the official store of your device’s manufacturer. Never download apps from unverified or unknown sources. Always use the original operating system and avoid any modifications that allow full admin access, such as rooting or jailbreaking. Do not buy or use devices with modified systems.
If we detect malware on your device, we may restrict your access to online banking or log you out of the app.
For desktop apps, only install them from official stores such as the Windows Store and Mac App Store, or from installation packages provided by the manufacturer.
The PIN for George or George Business must be 4–8 digits long.
The PIN for the USB token used in the George token desktop app must be 6–8 digits long.
Choose a PIN that’s easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess.
Never share it with anyone and change it regularly. You can also use biometric authentication to access the app. If your device supports it, we recommend using this security feature.
Keep your PUK safe – you’ll need it to unblock your PIN in the George token app.
Never share your PUK and store it in a secure place.
There are two ways to secure access to George and George Business using biometrics – fingerprint and facial recognition.
Fingerprint
You can use your fingerprint to secure both your device and access to the app. If you choose to use fingerprint login for George or George Business, make sure your device doesn't store fingerprints of other people. If it does, remove any fingerprints that don’t belong to you.
Facial recognition
You can also use facial recognition to protect both your device and app access.
This method may not be suitable if you have a similar-looking sibling or a twin.
We also recommend considering the quality of the facial recognition technology used by your device manufacturer before enabling this type of biometric authentication.
When using banking apps, we recommend using mobile data whenever possible.
Free public Wi-Fi networks can be risky – someone might intercept your sensitive data (like login credentials) and misuse them.
You can install the app on multiple devices. However, if you share a device with family members or friends, you’re also giving them access to your apps – including George, George Business or George token. That’s why we recommend installing the app only on devices you use exclusively.
We recommend using modern security features like fingerprint or facial recognition.
If your device doesn’t support these features, set a different PIN to unlock your device than the one you use to log in to George, George Business or George token.
If George, George Business or George token asks you to confirm a transaction or log in – and you’re not currently doing either – do not approve anything. Instead, contact us directly from within your George or George Business app – it’s safe and convenient.

Install antivirus software on your mobile device and keep both the antivirus app and your operating system up to date.
Always store your USB token in a safe place and never lend it to anyone.
If you lose your device or it ends up in the wrong hands, you can locate it, lock it or even erase your data remotely.
- On Android, use the Find My Device app.
- On iOS, go to Settings and select Find My iPhone.
