We are ending support for the George app downloaded from Huawei AppGallery. This is because fewer and fewer clients use this version of George.
From 16 February 2027, you will no longer be able to use George downloaded from Huawei AppGallery. We will notify affected clients directly in George well in advance.
How do you know if this change affects you?
This change affects clients who use George downloaded from Huawei AppGallery. This mainly affects Huawei phones without Google services, including the Google Play Store.
Some older Huawei phones, particularly models released up to 2019, may have both the Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery. In this case, it depends on where you downloaded George from.
If you use George downloaded from the Google Play Store, this change does not affect you.
What will stop working?
If you already have George downloaded from Huawei AppGallery, the app will remain on your phone. However, from 16 February 2027, you will be prompted to update it when you open it. You won't be able to download the required update.
You will also no longer be able to download or update George through Huawei AppGallery.
If you do not have George activated on another supported device, you will not be able to:
- Log in to George on your computer if you need to confirm the login in the mobile app.
- Confirm payments and other requests in George.
- Use services that require identity verification through George, such as logging in with Bank iD.
What should you do to keep using George?
- Do you have both the Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery on your phone?
If you use George downloaded from Huawei AppGallery, switch to the version available on the Google Play Store. Activate the Google Play version of George before 16 February 2027. - Don't have the Google Play Store on your phone?
You will need another supported Android or iOS phone.
George currently supports:
- Android 10 and later
- iOS 17.7 and later
Download George from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your new phone and activate it.
We recommend switching before 16 February 2027 so you can continue using George without interruption.
