It depends on where you wish to send the money and in what currency.

2. If you are sending a currency other than EUR, or sending EUR outside the SEPA area, you will need to make a standard foreign transfer.

Additional information

When will your money arrive with a SEPA transfer or a foreign transfer?

A SEPA payment is usually credited to the recipient’s account on the next business day after it is submitted. On that day, the payment must be entered no later than 8:00 p.m.

For foreign transfers, the payment is usually credited to the recipient’s account within 2 to 4 business days after it is submitted. However, please keep in mind that various factors can delay foreign payments, such as public holidays, weekends, time zones, AML checks (anti–money laundering controls), and other processing steps.

The time you send the transfer request is always critical. We cannot guarantee the day of delivery if you send the payment after the deadline. If you do send it after the cut off, we will submit it to the correspondent bank no later than on the next business day. You can find more detailed information about transfer request deadlines here.

How much are the fees for SEPA payments and foreign transfers?

Please see our fee schedule in the Payments section.

Special rules for payments to certain countries

Recipient’s name (full name) or company name

For all SEPA and foreign transfers, you must provide the exact full name of the recipient (first and last name) or the exact company name.
Please note that if the recipient’s name is not entered correctly, the foreign bank may request additional clarification or may not process the payment at all. Additional fees may apply if the payment needs to be clarified or returned.

Payment purpose

Banks in some countries require you to provide a description of the payment purpose. Always enter a clear reason for the transfer in English (for example, add a description of the goods alongside the invoice number, or use “payment for accommodation” when paying for a hotel stay).
Each country may have different requirements. Instructions on how to fill in the payment purpose for a specific country can be found under that country’s flag below.

Recipient’s address

Clients are now required to provide recipient address details for selected foreign transfers. This change follows the standards for electronic data exchange between financial institutions (ISO 20022).

SWIFT foreign transfers – this requirement applies to certain countries outside Europe. The countries concerned, along with the specific address fields you need to provide, can be found in the list below.

SEPA payments – for EUR payments within the European Economic Area, you must enter the recipient’s city and country.
