Using Payment Cards with PKI Certification Securely

1

Choose a secure PIN

A PIN is always four digits long. Therefore, choose a PIN that is easy to remember but difficult for others to guess.
Never disclose your PIN to anyone and make sure to change it regularly.

2

A card is non-transferrable

A card is issued to only one specific user and must not be used by anyone else.

3

Once you are done using your card, remove it from the reader

4

Your computer’s operating system

Always use the most up-to-date version of your computer’s operating system and make sure that it is supported by the manufacturer and the bank

5

Software and antivirus programs

Install only legal software on your computer and update it regularly. Do not open unknown links to suspicious foreign sites. Only visit trusted and known sites. Do not download anything from unknown sites.

6

Be wary of suspicious emails

Use the spam filter in your email account. Add other protection tools (antispyware, anti-adware, etc.). Do not open emails with suspicious links or attachments.

7

Do not connect unknown media

Do not connect unknown media (USB flash drives, CDs, DVDs etc.) to your computer.

8
