Where we stand now
We have reduced our overall energy consumption by 56.9% compared to 2011, a year-on-year reduction of 12.4%.
Financial Literacy and Money Alphabet: By the end of 2021, 752 schools had signed up and over 70,000 children had been through the programme in 2022.
We have reduced our operational carbon footprint (Scope 1+2) by 84% compared to 2011 and 12.4% year-on-year.
The Česká spořitelna Foundation distributed CZK 145 million in 2022. It purposefully supports projects and approaches that advance our educational system and motivates students.

Financial health
- A total of three Golden Crowns (mortgages, virtual George card, Money Alphabet) and four Bronze Crowns were awarded to Česká spořitelna in the 2022 Zlatá koruna (Golden Crown) competition.
- Česká spořitelna's CEO Tomáš Salomon was named Banker of the Year in the Bank of the Year 2022 competition. CS also took first place in the Private Bank of the Year categoryČeská spořitelna took third place in the Corporate Banking, Customer Banking and the main category of Bank of the Year 2022.
- Česká spořitelna also won an award in the Hospodářské noviny Best Bank competition, coming in third place.
Enviromental
- The largest green bond issue to date among financial institutions operating on the domestic market, worth EUR 500 million, which Spořitelna carried out in September 2021, won the "Green Market Pioneer in the Czech Republic in 2021" award announced by the Climate Bonds Initiative.
Social
- Česká spořitelna won the prestigious global Customer Centricity World Series Awards 2022 - in the Customer Experience Team category. 53 countries and 122 companies competed in the competition.
- Česká spořitelna won a silver medal in the People in Need Responsible Lending Index.
- Česká spořitelna won first place in the European Customer Centricity Awards 2022 for its comprehensive approach to helping refugees and people who have remained in Ukraine.
- Česká spořitelna took 3rd place in the Employer of the Year 2022 competition in the elite national category of companies with over 5,000 employees.
Governance
- In the TOP Employers survey, Česká spořitelna became the number one and the first career choice of university students in the field of Banking and Investment. This is the first time in history that Spořitelna has dominated this category.
- Česká spořitelna was awarded by the Ministry of Finance and the General Financial Directorate for the largest corporate tax payers in the Czech Republic. In 2021, Savings Bank was the second largest corporate tax payer in the Czech Republic.
- 3rd place sustainable bank of the year in the Bank of the Year competition in 2021.
- 3rd place for Diversity and Inclusion Strategy in the Diversity Index for 2021.
