The Green Company project strives to improve public awareness of the methods
and importance of recycling electrical appliances, and solves the lack of
places in the Czech Republic where people – company employees can dispose of
their old electrical household appliances. The aim of the Green Company project
is to protect the environment by ensuring the collection and effective
recycling of old electrical appliances. These contain many dangerous substances
such as mercury, lead, cadmium, bromide combustion retarders and others, as
well as a large amount of recyclable and reusable materials.
This is a unique project, the first of its kind in the Czech Republic, which
offers companies the opportunity of fulfilling their social responsibility
program. The project was officially launched in early February 2008.
Česká spořitelna became involved in the “Green Company” project in June
2008, thus allowing its employees to get rid of used small electrical
appliances, batteries, toners and cartridges in an ecological manner.
Collection bins are located in 44 buildings of Česká spořitelna across the
country.
