Corporate social responsibility is generally understood as the integration
of a company’ business activities with the needs of the society and the
integration of the interests of target group into the company’s policies and
conduct. It is a concept whereby businesses openly admit their share of
responsibility for the situation and functioning of society and it is based on
the assumption that no business operates merely in its economic relations but
that it also influences the environment in which it operates and its interest
groups (employees, clients, shareholders, the society). And, on the other
hand, the interest groups have an impact on the success of the
company. CSR is built on three pillars (referred to as the triple bottom
line) - economic, social, and on the principle of environmental
sustainability.
