The Ceska Sporitelna Personal Account Has Brought Low-threshold Clubs CZK 800,000 Thus Far

Thanks to newly opened Ceska Sporitelna Personal Accounts, CZK 800,000 has already been prepared for the support of low-threshold clubs. At the beginning of January 2010, Ceska Sporitelna launched a campaign in which, for every newly opened Personal Account, it donates CZK 60 to the activities of low-threshold clubs, i.e., leisure-time facilities for children and youth. Low-threshold clubs are operated all over the Czech Republic by Caritas Czech Republic, a long-term partner of the Ceska Sporitelna Foundation. The campaign will run until 5 April of this year, and the full amount of the contribution will be given to the low-threshold clubs at the end of the campaign.

“Support for low-threshold clubs is one of the key components of our corporate social responsibility strategy. Clubs contribute to education in an unobtrusive way, and can even serve in the prevention of drug addiction. We trust that in the second half of the campaign, we will again manage to put together at least the same amount as has been collected thus far. We thank all of the clients who have supported the initiative by opening a Personal Account,” said Klára Gajdušková, Director of Corporate Communication at Ceska Sporitelna.

The campaign applies to standard CS Personal Accounts as well as newly opened accounts for students (CS Personal Student Account) and for children (CS Personal Junior Account). The Personal Account allows its user to variably set up services and products – there is a choice of 13 optional services. The set-up of the account can be changed in any way at any time. The most popular combinations of services include debit cards, free withdrawals from CS ATMs, and the SERVIS 24 telephone and Internet banking. More than 1.7 million clients already have the Ceska Sporitelna Personal Account.

Low-threshold clubs are designed primarily for children and young people who would otherwise spend their time on the streets, and perhaps in at-risk groups. The clubs got their name from the fact that access to them is not restricted in any way – they are free of charge and their members only state a minimum amount of information about themselves. The clubs offer, create, and organise both leisure-time activities and advisory and social services. The fundamental significance of the clubs lie in their advisory and preventive activities – they give children and youth the opportunity to chat or to confide about their problems, help them address difficult situations, and also strive to prevent them from getting into these situations in the first place. Caritas Czech Republic operates a total of 41 low-threshold clubs throughout the country.
