The Ceska Sporitelna Ladies’ Investment Club Celebrates its Second Birthday
The Ceska Sporitelna Ladies’ Investment Club celebrates its
second anniversary on 15 February 2010. Since its establishment, the club
has welcomed nearly 1,900 registered members who are interested in investments.
The vast majority of them are also Ceska Sporitelna’s clients.
Nearly 70% of the club’s members already have investment
experience. From amongst the clients of Ceska Sporitelna, there are about 600
investors among the club members. For the time being, most of them are
conservative, investing most frequently into bonds and bond funds (these
account for just under 30% of the overall volume of their investments), into
money market funds(25%), and into stock (20%).About 20% invest
regularly.
“We are pleased by the positive response of our members,
who, in managing their personal or family finance, use the information and
knowledge gained through the club’s activities. They also appreciate the
possibility of initiating new and interesting inter-sectoral contacts at
specialised and social gatherings,” said Romana Vlková, Manager of the Ceska
Sporitelna Ladies’ Investment Club.
The club’s members include managers, entrepreneurs, politicians, and
journalists from all over the country - four-fifths of them are from Bohemia
and one-fifth from Moravia. More than 80% of them are in their productive
working age, between 30 and 60, with the age category of 40 to 49 being the
most numerous.
Since its establishment, the Ladies’ Investment Club has organised five
specialised and social meetings (four were held in Prague and one in Brno),
participated in several partner events, and published a total of seven issues
of the Lady In magazine.
This year, the club is planning to hold at least two large events and
publish four issues of the magazine. It will also continue in partnership
cooperation with other entities – primarily in the sphere of specialised and
social gatherings. Its existing partners include the magazine Harper’s Bazaar,
the Moravian Association of Female Entrepreneurs and Managers, the Czech
Chamber of Commerce, and the clinic Esthé.
Club membership is free, as is the Lady In magazine that is sent to all
members. Ladies can also take advantage of priority invitations to events
organised by the club and its partners.
By establishing the Ladies Investment Club, Ceska Sporitelna followed in the
footsteps of the Erste Group’s tradition, which, with this activity, counters
the established stereotype that investment is solely a male matter. It has
also inspired other members of the Erste Group, so that in Slovakia, Hungary,
and Croatia, they already have their own ladies’ investment clubs, and it is
newly being developed in Romania, as well.
